Quick Picks: Best gifts under $10
Sometimes we don’t have time to read every description and analyze each item. Instead, we need someone to say, “Buy this. It is a winner,” and be done with it. So, if you are nodding your head (yep, I see you), this is for you.

Best Toys and Gifts Under $10 for Kids
Ready for a visual list of favs? Here you go! Because let’s shout this from the rooftop. GOOD TOYS DON’T HAVE TO COST A LOT. And to simplify things, I organized everything by age and added five suggestions for each group. No need to search 100 items. Who has time for that?
These are not necessarily the same items as those listed above, so be sure to check out both!
Toddler and preschool under $10
Let’s start with the youngest group. Here are five toys I would grab for my kids or as gifts for others.

Rainbow Tape
Tape in the early years was our JAM. We used it for Breakfast Invitations and also free play. If you have young (and big!) kids, toss this in their stockings. Promise. It’s the best.

Duplo Cute Pets
Duplos are the bomb. We purchased them in the early years, and my boys still tinker with them at times at…ready for it…13! This adorable set is under $10.

Bluey Memory Match
Playing memory match with my oldest is one of my most cherished memories. Likely because I was always in awe of how he beat me every time. Memory match is such a great way to spend time with kids.

Play-Doh starter set
Play-Doh gave me soooo much life in the early years. I would put out a big plastic tablecloth on the back deck, and they would play for hours. This fun starter set keeps everything in one place.

Tape Measure
Kids love to be helpers, and this tape measure is a fun way to send them on their measuring adventures. Make a quick picture chart and have them find items in the house to measure as you grab your mug from the microwave.
Ages 5-7 under $10
The next age group has another super fun list with a great price point.

Pizza Party
We played A LOT of Pizza Party at this age. It is a great game to keep in the car, use at restaurants, or play while you wait for the pediatrician to come into the room.

LEGO 3-in-1 space
My middle LOVES LEGOS, and these 3-in-1 sets let him decide what to build. There are many adorable options to choose from. Click the link to see more!

Row Your Goat
You know how at the end of the night you are exhausted, want to send your child to bed on a good note, but don’t have any brain power left? Play Row Your Goat! Little thinking required, and a whole lot of fun.

Plip Charms
I saw these at the NY Toy Fair and fell in love. My seven-year-old self would have been all over these.

Kanoodle
Kanoodle has my heart! My then-third-grader took it to school every day to play with friends and on long bus rides home. Fast forward to me running into a follower at a restaurant, and her son, around the same age, was playing Kanoodle. It instantly reminded me how this game is a timeless classic.
Ages 8-10 under $10
As kids get a little older, we compete more with screens. But don’t let the competition scare you. These are toys they will still come back to. Keep them where they can easily grab them, and you will see the play you saw in the early years.

Plus Plus tubes
You cannot go wrong with Plus Plus tubes. And at under $10, with so many options to choose from, it is an instant yes for me. We keep all our pieces in a large cookie jar that the kids constantly come back to for play. (See them in my big kids’ playspace.)

Ooly glitter pens
Glitter pens. Say less.

Murdle Jr.
My oldest really got into solving Murdle puzzles, so Murdle Jr. was a fun surprise when it came out. If you have a child who enjoys solving puzzles and escape rooms, this under-$10 option is sure to be a hit!

Burst
I have been playing this over and over again with my 11-year-old before bedtime. Not to brag, but I still hold the winning record. He’s determined to beat me, and well, I am not one to let him win on purpose. So here we are. Another round tonight, I’m sure.

Joke Book
When our dinner discussions were getting a little stale, we brought out this $6 joke book. It was exactly what we needed, and it makes a fun gift to put in a stocking or pass along to your niece or nephew for the holidays.
Ages 11-13 under $10
Ready for it? Big kids still play. Although I will be the first to admit it, it gets a lot harder to remind them that off-screen can be fun too in middle school. And since I am not anti-screens, we make time for both. Carve out some nonscreen time, and keep these quick ways to play visible.

Catan on the Road
If you have kids who enjoy Catan, they will be all over Catan on the Road. Take it on your next trip, or invite your child to share it with their friends.

No Glue Mani
Do we have these? No. No one here is asking for nail press-ons. But my younger self would have loved these, so I’m adding them here for your little who also enjoys getting their nails done.

Magnetic ring set
My boys do not stop fidgeting with things! This magnetic ring set will go in their stocking this year to help calm their mind at bedtime.

Sketch book
I love a grown-up sketchbook. Heck, Office Depot and an Art Store still make me giddy. If you have a little artist who is ready to have their own sketch book, this is an easy yes.

Gem kit
We ordered this gem set and my 9-year-old has gemmed all the things. So why put this kit in the older category? Because the gems are super small and the glue is pretty smelly. (As most craft glue can be.) You want to gift this to a mature child who enjoys paying attention to small details. And I can assure you, many kids and adults are bedazzling all the things in 2026!
Mom friends under $10
And what would be an under-$10 gift guide without a nod to the mom who does it all? If you have a friend you want to gift a little something, here are a few of my personal favorites.

Reverse Coloring Book
This is a calming way to start the day before I look at my phone. It helps reset my day.

Ice roller
I keep this in the freezer and love the way it feels on my face. Works best after late nights (wink) and early mornings.

Miss Mouth
This stain remover works so well for me! If you want to pass it along to a friend to try too, you can get one bottle for under $10.

Long sleeve top
I know it is tricky to gift a shirt, so this one is for you. This is my favorite long-sleeve to layer as the weather gets colder.

Scalp massager
I would not want to shower without this. I put shampoo in my hair and then use this to get everything off my scalp. It is one of those things that I would likely not have purchased myself and needed a friend to say, I love this. You will too.
Okay!!!! Do you believe me now? Good toys do NOT have to cost a lot. Have another favorite to add? Drop it in the comments below!
