Calling all busy hands! This collection of fidget toys for kids is for you. (And obvi, adults too!) When I pay close attention to what my boys use most often, fidget and sensory toys are at the top of the list. They always have something in their busy hands! Fidget tools work great for boring afternoons, downtime, and waiting in long lines, not to mention they make the best stocking stuffers!

Why Fidget Toys
Where were the fidget toys when I was a kid? Oh, wait. I remember. It was the Koosh ball! Fidget toys have come a long way.
Fidget toys for kids help redirect behavior and stimulate sensory needs. They are excellent tools to provide children with an alternative outlet when they’re feeling overstimulated. Fidget and sensory toys are also a fantastic option for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, children with sensory processing challenges, and children who can focus better with something in their hands.

TOYS FOR 2025
Gah, these toys are the best. UPDATED for 2025. These are the best toys for kids.
Let’s dive into the best fidget toys for kids!
Without further ado, let’s help redirect nervous energy with versatile tools that help calm our nervous system. Occupational therapists approved!

Nee Doh
Sensory toys are anything but boring. Instead, they are incredibly soothing and satisfying. These Nee Doh squeeze and stress balls come in so many different colors and styles.

Shashibo
The Shashibo booth was booming at the New York Toy Fair this year. My three boys manipulate this fidget cube all the time. Have multiples? Try putting them together!

PushPeel
Ooooh. This toy is super soothing. Push the tubes in and out of this maze board to relax after a long day or take it on the go for your next road trip.

Oogi Family
I brought one of these home from the New York Toy Fair in February, and the boys have not stopped playing with it!

GINFH Brain Teaser
My oldest brought home this fidget lock, and I am going to sit here until I figure it out. So far, the lock is winning.

Gidgets
Guess what my middle schooler is getting in his stocking? You guessed it! I am fairly sure that my fourth grader could also benefit from these.

Morf Fidget Toy
Morf is new to us. It is made from a mesh-like material and changes shape as you play. (Kinda like if Oobleck was a fidget toy.)

Wacky Tracks
These tracks are great to keep near your homework station or donate to the classroom for the treasure box. Comes in a pack of 8.

Pyraminx Marble
This twisty puzzle is for ages 9-99. Start with it one way, and spin and click to see if you can complete the different puzzle missions.

Speks Fidget Magnets
These fidget magnets stopped me in my tracks at Barnes and Noble. They are soft to the touch and satisfying to stack. I may be keeping this one for myself.

Hanayama Brain Teaser
Okay. This is where brain teasers meet fidget puzzles. There are six levels to choose from, and they are suggested for kids ages 12 and up!

Gokeey Spinners
Yep. These robot-like spinners are a big hit with school-aged kids. Perfect for the long winter days ahead.

Bouncyband
Do you want to help your child sit at the dinner table? This is how. These bouncy bands help children who need a little extra movement while eating or sitting. Some fidget items that aren’t handheld are still valuable tools to help redirect energy.

Plus Plus BIG
Plus Plus BIG will always have my heart. If you do not have these, get them now! Okay, that was a little forward. But seriously, they are a top favorite that my boys have played with for almost a decade.

Bilibo
I will never forget walking into this booth at the toy fair and chatting with the most educated man about play. Don’t let this simple toy fool you. It is anything but. Kids sit inside, put on their heads as a helmet, or use figures inside for imaginary play. 10/10.

Teeter Popper
The Teeter Popper is another fun tool for wiggly children. They can sit in the middle and use their core to balance around to regulate their nervous system.

Squigz
Squigz for the win! Use these on the table to entertain your child as you prep dinner or toss them into the bath. Endless fun.

Brainometry Cubed
I spotted these at the Learning Resources booth at the New York Toy Fair and could not put them down.

Fidget Rings
I like how this spinner ring is discreet and not distracting for children to use during the school day.

Icosa Fidget Ball
This fidget ball entertained my youngest during our last trip. He played with it on the car ride, waiting at restaurants, and everything in between.

Qboid pocket puzzle
This pocket puzzle has my oldest’s name all over it! If you have a child who takes the bus home, this is a great way to help pass the time.
But that’s not all!
Sensory play for kids has been such a part of raising my boys. Now that they are grown, I can see the benefits of how fine motor sensory play, along with significant muscle movements, help regulate their nervous systems.
Which sensory toy will you gift this holiday season?
