Hooray! It is officially Spring, and I’ve collected the best spring activities for kids. I am certainly ready to get outside again to see the sunshine. We’ve had a lot of rain here, and it’s been a long winter. On the bright side, I can see Spring signs everywhere, so warm weather must be getting close. With that, I’ve created this roundup to give us more spring in our step as we go from puffy coats to zip-ups! Now is the perfect time to save some of your favorite ideas from this list of spring activities.

What can we teach children about spring?
Spring is a great way to teach children about new growth, life cycles, planting, flower buds, spring colors, rain, and rainbows. Taking a nature walk, visiting a farmer’s market, and reading books about spring are ways we can teach children about spring hands-on.

- Blow bubbles.
- Collect pine cones.
- Go on a nature walk or scavenger hunt.
- Have an outdoor picnic.
- Hide Easter eggs

- Plant a garden.

- Visit a new to you local park.
- Watch a St. Patrick’s Day parade.

Breakfast Invitations are simple learning games that begin the day with play.
Spring sensory play
Sensory play in spring is a blast because many ideas can be done outdoors – in between gallons of rain. But I’ll take it! And some days, you may feel ready to let your hair down and send everyone out regardless. You’ll know when the day feels right to jump in mud puddles and engage in all things messy play.
