Summer is around the corner, which means popsicles, pool time, and simple ways to spend time indoors when the sun gets too hot. Good news! I’ve partnered with Astrobrights© Papers for a sponsored post (I’m a forever fan of their cardstock!) to share two small kids’ craft projects for summer. I created two different summer crafts with Astrobrights that kids of all ages will enjoy.

Summer Paper Happy Gram
Making a summer craft for yourself is fun, but what if you made a few for friends? Let’s make sunshine pick-me-ups your child can share with family, friends, or trusted neighbors.
Making a summer paper happy gram is fun for kids of all ages. Here, my ten-year-old took the lead on the tracing and cutting, and my eight-year-old wanted to decorate them for his friends and their siblings. Once created, all three boys put the happy grams in their bag to deliver them!
If you have younger children, invite them to trace and cut too! I fully support a kid’s craft looking like the child created it.
How to make a sunshine pick-me-up
- Get out your pack of Astrobrights® cardstock.
- Draw a sun on a piece of cardboard.
- Trace the sun on Astrobrights paper.
- Cut out the sun. (Bonus: Cutting improves fine motor strength!)
- Add a face to the sun.
- Secure a sweet treat, and it is sure to make a friend smile.
- Deliver!

ASTROBRIGHTS CARDSTOCK
I love the thickness of Astrobrights® cardstock and how it can be used to create so many summer crafts. I highly recommend this pack!
Eye Stickers
These eye stickers bring new life to paper crafts for all seasons. We’ve used them for Halloween creepy faces and class Valentines.
Summer Paper Snow Cone
After you get your summer happy grams delivered, make these fun snow cone designs with your Astrobrights® cardstock pack. The boys enjoy painting with sponges, and it’s an easy way to get the little ones involved.
Painting Tip: Offer colors that mix well together. For this craft, my boys used red, orange, and white. The next set of paints I offered were blue, teal, purple, and white.

- Invite your child to mix the colors and create “shaved ice”.
- Cut a simple triangle for the paper holder.
- Assemble the paper shaved ice and the paper cone.
- Decorate and hang!
Supplies for the Paper Snow Cone
Just like the summer happy gram, these supplies are ones you will use multiple times. Keep these supplies in an art cart or container with a lid to create all summer long!
