The other morning, my preschooler grabbed, A Little Bit of Dirt and flung himself onto the couch.
“Mom, I am going to find us an activity to do today.”
Sounds good to me, I thought! Let’s see which outdoor idea he comes up with.

My preschooler chose the leaf activity called Nature Sensory Bottles.
We headed outside to see, touch, listen and engage our senses. Going outside activities for kids is so important to us.
What I love most about this book is that almost every activity begins with exploration.
It would help if you preschooler began by searching outside for their materials, rather than through Hobby Lobby’s aisles. – nature + no cost = huge win!

Being outside helps us all be better thinkers.
You will notice that both boys got involved.
One boy is three years, and the other is 21 months. With the little guy, there was a lot of dumping. What is most important is that I was exposing both of my boys to exploring nature.
Each boy was searching and gaining a better understanding of their backyard habitat.

The goal of this leaf activity is to collect leaves and other items found in nature.
We brought them inside to continue the investigation.
