Want a calmer morning routine?
I AM GOING TO SHARE WITH YOU A QUICK AND EASY WAY TO HELP CALM YOUR MORNING ROUTINE WITH JUST 5 MINUTES OF PREP WORK.
I enjoy calling these, Breakfast Invitations.
Simply put, this is an invitation to:
- Give mom a minute
- Allow mom to prepare breakfast
- Allow mom to drink her morning beverage HOT
- Allow mom to gaze out the window, even if it is just for one brief minute of sanity before the day begins.
- Engage, excite and distract your preschooler
These breakfast invitations are ways to invite your preschooler to practice something they have ALREADY mastered.
It is a time for your preschooler to have a hands on review that will engage their thinking and distract them before everyone hits the ground running.
To be honest, I am not a morning person. I really never have been.
So these Breakfast Invitations give me a chance to calmly wake up.
This is my preschoolers most focused time of the day, so why not use it to both of our advantages?
Plus, you can find numerous Breakfast Invitations on our new Alphabet Activity Cards!
The Set Up:
Remember, I have a brand new baby. I am rushing to bed as fast as I can knowing that I will be back up in 3 hours.
I get Breakfast Invitations set up in 5 minutes the night before and have it on the table ready for my preschoolers the next morning.
Some mornings the two boys work on the same paper.
WHY?
So my three year old can begin to take the lead with teaching. My two year old wants to do EVERYTHING his brother does.
Other mornings, the boys have different tasks.
WHY?
So both of my preschoolers can practice independent activities.
KEEP IN MIND:
This is one activity per day. (above shows two different activities)
