Instructions

  • First, I add a row of dot stickers.
  • Next, I draw stems and a leaf, so the dot sticker begins to look like an apple.
  • Finally, I write the number on each apple and invite my preschooler to connect the dots.

Conversations about counting

  • How old are you? Let’s count to that amount.
  • Let’s move our finger from one to the last sticker. We can count together.
  • Wow, this group has 9 apples, and the green group has 12. Which number is larger? How can you tell?
