I couldn’t help myself. Tissue Paper Easter Art needed to happen.
By now, you know if a holiday is around the corner, so it is an easy art idea with tissue paper. What would peanut butter be without jelly? My thoughts exactly. Tissue paper Easter art is on rotation, just like the others.
Not sure what I mean? Welcome, you must be new here. Here’s the shortlist:
So now that we are all caught up on Days with Grey traditions let’s decorate some eggs to hang in the kitchen windows!
It’s like painting, minus the paint
Here’s looking at all the families that want to paint but need that entry-level idea to get started.
Rather than paint, we are using glue. And since the glue dries clear and peels off – this is a win for many.

Now, let’s set this easter idea up!
- Draw an oval on the construction paper.
- Tear the tissue paper and place it in a container to the left of the artwork. I like to begin left to right progression at an early age to develop habits and eye-tracking.
- Add three parts glue to one part water into a container. I don’t have exact measurements, and I am sure it is slightly different every time. We look to wet glue but not so wet that it rips the tissue paper.
Next, invite your child in to decorate their Easter egg.
Place the tissue paper on the egg and cover it with the glue mixture. Some of the colors will bleed together to make a brand new color! – A little science for the win.
When the tissue paper art dries, thang it up in a window for the sun to shine through!
